SAVE Legacy Planning - Leave a Lasting Legacy Through an Endowed Gift
We will always be fighting. Although great progress has been made in your lifetime and across the country (and the globe), our LGBTQ community will continue to face obstructions and new threats well into the future impacting younger generations in ways we have yet to see or imagine. And, you know our opposition always comes back stooping lower each time to try to harm us. With your support, our ability to fight back on the ground and at the local level will be secured.
When you include a gift to SAVE as part of your legacy, you are continuing a tradition that has made South Florida a beacon in the movement to promote, protect, and defend LGBTQ people in our community from discrimination by mobilizing volunteers to act in service to equality for everyone.
SAVE Legacy Gifts may come from a bequest in your will or trust, assets from your banking and/or investment account, retirement plan, life insurance policy, to name a few of the options.
A Trusted Partner
Legacy gifts to SAVE shall go to an endowment at Our Fund Foundation as a gift that provides a permanent source of support for the mission to promote, protect, and defend LGBTQ people long after you are gone. To make a legacy gift this is a Two-Step Process:
- First, you must name Our Fund as the beneficiary of the philanthropic portion of your estate – either on your will or revocable trust. This can be a set amount, a percentage, or the residual amount of your estate after other gifts are made.
- Secondly, you would meet with Our Fund to create your Expression of Charitable Intent, which outlines the specifics of your gift, including named organization beneficiaries like SAVE; specific causes or fields of interest, and even the distribution plan and specific uses of the annual gifts if desired.
SAVE Legacy Society Benefits
Members of the SAVE Legacy Society will be permanently included in the Guardian level membership which includes an annual one-on-one meeting with the SAVE Executive Director, invitations to networking events throughout the year, bi-monthly Guardian Report, inclusion in the member spotlight feature in SAVE’s monthly e-newsletter, recognition in the Guardian Report, recognition on the SAVE website, limited edition SAVE T-Shirt, and a SAVE Magnet.

If you don’t already have a will, consider creating one to ensure that your legacy is secured and invested in a way that reflects your values. SAVE has arranged to have an estate planning service available to our members through FreeWill.com -- and you can update and change your plan as often as you would like and at any point along the way.
